If you have read any of my past articles on building traffic for a website and how fundamental it is to building steady sales on the Internet. Once again, it is simple volume through the sales funnel, and you will be making sales. It is the law of averages. Now we are going to look at how you can convert MORE of the traffic into solid sales!

Conversion rates on a website vary - especially with the amount of web traffic you have. If you are only getting 25 visits per day, and converting 2 visits into sales - the conversion rate is about 7%. If you jump up to 2500 visits, your conversion rate might drop to less than 1%, but that still means that you are making nearly 25 sales per day.

The key, in general terms, is to increase the conversion rate, regardless of how many visits you have. This way, if you have 25 or 2500, you are still getting MORE conversions overall. Here are three things I would suggest to improve the sales conversion on your website:

" Added value - Anytime you can give people more for their money, it increases the chance of making a sale. One of the most popular methods I've seen is the use of bonus material for e-books. You have a sales page for an e-book, and many sellers have one, two, or even three or more pieces of extra material sold as added bonuses to the book. People love getting 'more' for their money. Provide this to them in one capacity or another, and you will make more sales.

" Features and benefits - Why should people be buying your product? You can't simply expect people to blindly make a purchase on your website without any particular reason. What separates your product from others out there? Showing the visiting traffic the features and benefits of using your product or service increases the chance of making a sale. Just keep in mind that the features and benefits should 'matter' to the buyer.

" Good sales copy - You want good sales copy - not fake sales copy. Providing people with pie-in-the-sky expectations of your product is a sure way to drive buyers away, or increase the number of returns people have when you actually do make a sale. Good sales copy represents the product accurately, and fairly, while emphasizing the features and benefits to the point where the product is a must buy.

If you want to convert the traffic coming to your website, you need to make your web page stand out among the hundreds or thousands that might be offering the same or similar products to yours. Take the time to create ingenious ways of executing the above tips I have provided, and you can be sure to watch your sales conversion rate soar!
